Interesting title for today, isn't it... Well, last night, since there was no anime club for the week, my friends and I decided to have a mini get together. We went to dinner, then to Kime's house for some MST3K. Now, for those that aren't familiar with mst, it stands for "Mystery Science Theater 3000" and is pretty much these 3 guys that sit and make fun of old movies. It's pretty funny. We watched 2 of 'em. the videos were "Home Economics" - a video made like... in the 60's that was made to tell women they should major in Home Ec... yeah. weird. but very funny. The 2nd was an old movie called "Cave Dwellers". Man. I have seen some crappy movies in my time, but that one takes the cake. I laughed soooo hard though. My favorite line was when this huge barbarian guy, wearing nothing but a loincloth and some furry boots, runs in and one of the guys making fun of the movie said, "Who is this gentle stranger with pecs like melons and knees of fringe?" ah, it was quite fun. Kime let me borrow some more of her manga... which leads me to the meatloaf portion of the rant...

First off. "X-Day" is a pretty cool manga. I like it lots, but I've only read the first couple volumes. It's... different. the author has some... really interesting view points... In the 2nd volume though, there's a short story at the end...titled, "The Last Supper". *sigh* I don't think I'll be able to eat beef for a while... that story messed with my head... it basically takes place in a world where cows look like PEOPLE. they can also walk and talk... but they are still used for livestock... I won't spoil the ending, but... dang. I'm gonna have to call Kime and whine at her about it... the cow in the story, Lamda, was so freakin' adorable... my brother said I should draw a pic of him holding up one of those chick-fil-a signs that reads "Eat more chikin'"... um... yeah. so... if you get the chance, check out "X-Day", or just skim the 2nd volume and check out that short story! really cool stuff. Now, to further mess with my brain, I'm gonna go watch the ending of Utena... woo! Check that out! 2 long rant days in a row!
