yes... yes it is. and it's quite dorky, but i like it that way :) anyway, um... some people seem to not realize what guestbooks are for... they are not to pimp out your own site and say "look at me" "look at me" yes, there's a place for you to put your site address, so if people want to see your site, they will, but when you post on the guestbook and just tell people to come see your site, it kinda bugs me. sorry. Personally, I'm much more likely to visit a person's site when they leave a nice comment and are just all around polite. anyway, not trying to get upset at anyone, 'cause i'm really not, it's just something i wish people wouldn't do. Anyway... Chery I think, asked some questions about drawing. I get asked this a lot, so I figured I'd just post here in hopes that some people will read it. Where I learned to draw? I started watching Sailor Moon at about age 12 or 13. I pretty much just tried to find all the pictures I could, then I'd copy them. yes, copying is not a good idea if you're posting it online, but if it's just practice it's very good for you to get your hands and fingers used to drawing in a certain style. I also have taken several art classes since I was small and I still continue to take classes. I draw a LOT. if you aren't practicing on a regular basis, it's going to take a lot longer to improve. to quote an anime i like... "If you stop practicing for a day, YOU'LL know it. If you stop practicing for 2 days, other artists will know it. and if you stop practicing for a week, your audience will know it." okay, so i'm really not that strict on practicing, but it is important. I try to draw everyday. the other question, suggestions or ideas on action related drawings? okay, this is where it becomes a little difficult to explain if you haven't had any formal art training. (i should probably do a tutorial or something, so there's pics and it's easier to see...) but anyway, i start with stick figures. no, not your average ones, it's like a skeletal structure. you try to imagine how you want the body to move, then you draw the stick figure as close to that pose as you can. draw in muscles and/or other curves your character may have and that's about it. it takes a while to be able to do it and i still have trouble, so don't get discouraged! My favorite tutorial site is Polykarbon.com they have some excellent tutorials for faces, hands, feet, etc that totally put me to shame. so check it out! great stuff! anyway, now that i'm sure most of you have quit reading this rant quite some time ago... *lol* um I think that's about it! See ya next time! Hope all that stuff was helpful! ~Mika |
