June 8, 2005 - Greetings from the North, Canada actually. Yup, I'm Canadian
if anyone wants to know. heh! I think it's about time I told you some things
about me. I'm an Indian, no not from India, you know the kind that live in
Canada. I come from the Ojibway tribe that live in the dense woods of North
Western Ontario. Alot of lakes here as well, it's good for fishing. My brothers
and I went out on a boat yesterday to catch some. We caught at least 15, but
we only took one home, the rest were too small.
I started drawing when I was about 5. I did alot of drawing in school, I drew
almost any where like, books, desks, heh!, scrap paper, line paper, card board
paper. I started tracing first, drawing almost anything from horses, faces, and
animals. I started collecting comics when I saw a cover drawn by Jim Lee.
I copied his style for awhile, but I must admit he draws too much detail.
I needed something alittle more simple. I then saw an Uncanny X-men cover
drawn by Joe Madureira. His style was alittle more simple, and cartoony. I
later found out that his style is sort of a cross between anime and comics.
That was probably the first time I ever heard of anime, or manga. Manga art
looks even more simple , but still quite detailed. I'm comfortable how my
work has changed, especially how I found my own style of drawing.
This is the first comic I ever got past the second page. ^_^ My best friend
and I tried to create a comic when I was younger. We never finished it. I
guess I was too lazy. >_< Now here we are at Page 24 and I don't think
I'll get lazy with this comic. I thank Mika, for being understanding with
me and not...hmmm...nagging me for the next page to get done. I find that
I get art done when nobody bothers me about when I'll finish a picture. Well,
*sigh* it's 3:00 AM and I'm getting tired. I hope you all enjoy Midsummer's
Dreamer, and I hope to hear from you. God Bless.
~Master Mike
P.S. - Yes, Shaylee is speaking a different language. (It's Drow Elf if anyone is interested?) For the text I'm just going to put in what she says, then the translation inside these brackets < > Hope that will be easy to understand. ^_^ (Mika)
