Call My Name
Fanfiction by Sailor Chibi Kawaii
Chapter One: Dreams
* Jinzoungen - Japanese name for #17 and #18
*Chibi-usa - Japanese name for Rini aka Mini Moon
Fog... So thick you could almost cut it. She walked through the mists, unaware
of any danger, or what might be out there. She'd been here before. It was so
familiar. She continued walking and heard a voice. *His voice?* she thought.
*Where is he?* she asked herself, as if she knew who "he" was. She
continued through the mists, knowing she was getting closer. Almost there...
She could see his silhouette vaguely through the thick whiteness. He glowed
with a golden, pure aura about him. She could almost see his face, his features,
but just as she was nearing him, something grabbed her and pulled her away.
He started running toward her, fear in his voice, yelling her name.
She shot up in bed. "Not again..." she mumbled. She had been having
the same nightmare for the past few weeks. *Who was that guy?* she wondered.
In her dreams, she always knew, but when she woke, her mind was blank.
Shannon, also known to some as Sailor Chibi Kawaii and Princess of Crystal Tokyo,
sat up in bed, pondering. She stepped out onto the marble floor of her bedroom
and grabbed her brooch off of her night stand.
"Neo Crystal Power, Make-Up!" she said, not putting too much feeling
into it. She liked wearing her sailor soldier uniform more than her formal moon
princess dress while she went about the palace. Wearing dresses just didn't
suit her. She rolled her eyes. *not like the sailor uniform with it's super
mini skirt is a whole lot better...* she thought as ribbons of all colors
of the rainbow enveloped her. First to appear was her sailor suit, white with
pale violet collar. Next, her gloves with violet trim and boots to match. Her
medium length light brown hair wrapped itself into two buns atop her head. Then,
her white skirt with gold and purple trim appeared, and last, her pale, golden
wings materialized at her back, a crescent moon shot across her forehead and
her sword with turquoise belt flashed to her waist, hanging lightly at her side.
In a matter of seconds, she transformed into Sailor Chibi Kawaii, second daughter
of Serenity and Endymion, and agent of love and justice.
*And so begins another boring day in Crystal Tokyo...* she thought.

Meanwhile, in a different Tokyo, a different Earth, a young man sleeps fitfully. He too is haunted by his dreams. However, this is an Earth with a much dimmer future. This is an Earth with no moon. This is an Earth with no hero or heroine to protect it. This Earth is slowly being torn apart by the two man made men, the Jinzoungen. All those who have tried to stop them have been killed or wounded. The greatest fighters in the world: Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Yamcha, Krillin, and others, but most recently, Gohan.
Trunks woke from his nightmare. The same nightmare, he'd been having for the
past few weeks. At least it wasn't his usual dream; reliving Gohan's death at
the hands of the androids. This one felt worse. This time he felt like he could
stop the terrible vision it kept showing him, but he doubted himself. There
was a girl in his dream and he felt like he knew her, he felt like he just had
to save her, and even though he knew he'd never met this girl, he felt his heart
being torn apart as she was torn from him. Always the same, the dream ended
with him chasing after her, but never able to catch up. And then there was the
pain he felt. Even though it was just a dream, that feeling after she was gone,
that hollow, empty feeling stayed with him.
Trunks stepped out of bed, rubbing his eyes. He yawned, while remembering. Just a few days ago he had gone to the past. To save the future, he had come, killed Frieza, and given Goku the medicine. He wished he could stay in that time line, but he knew his mother needed him here. Trunks stepped into the shower, quickly washing his hair. He stepped out, pulling on his usual clothes: grey pants, black tank top, blue denim jacket and last of all, his sword.
He ate breakfast quickly, than walked briskly to the front door to leave for training. He knew they would need his help again in the past and that it would take a while to gather energy for the time machine, so he decided to get as much training in as possible. He got as far as the first step before he found his mother, Bulma standing right in front of him.
"Where do you think you're going?!" she asked, frowning at her son. "You've done nothing but train since you got back!"
"But Mom, I have to, I..." he started.
"Nonsense!" she cut him off. "You can't spend one day with your mother? Besides, I'm going shopping today and you can't expect me to carry a bunch of heavy packages on my own!"
Trunks sighed. "All right Mom, you win."
Bulma smiled triumphantly. "Well, let's get going!" she cried as she pulled a capsule from her pocket and threw it on the ground. In a flash the capsule became a red convertible air car, a personal favorite of Bulma's. She took special care of it, since capsules were rare now a day. It had plenty of room in both front and back for all the things Bulma "just had to get" at what was left of the malls and shopping centers. She hopped into the drivers seat, as Trunks opened his own door and sat down. Bulma noisily revved the engine and sped off through the air.

Shannon sighed. "Nothing interesting ever happens around here." she
mumbled to herself. "Mom and Dad are always busy and Chibi-usa is too busy
now with a family of her own...." Chibi-usa had recently married Helios,
a man she'd met when she had gone to the past to become a better sailor senshi.
Now that her older sister was grown, Serenity and Endymion had consented to
their marriage.
Shannon went to her training as usual. She had barely been born when Chibiusa
went to the past. She never had the opportunity to train with the others. She
drew her sword and began spinning, blocking and countering an imaginary opponent.
She took after her father, choosing a sword as her weapon, rather than a scepter
or wand. She didn't feel like she could fight with a girly weapon like that.
She liked to rely on herself, not the magic in objects. But Chibi Kawaii wanted
more. She didn't want to live in a palace her whole life, she wanted to fight
along side other warriors, have a true adventure.
*The Imperium Crystal will follow your heart, Shannon, remember that.* she thought deeply on the words her mother had always told her since she was a child. *One day, you'll have your own crystal... and one day it will follow your heart.*
"I wish that day was today..." Sailor Chibi Kawaii sighed. She felt tired all of the sudden. She sat down by a tree growing in the royal courtyard. Her eyes felt so heavy. *Probably because I haven't slept well for the past couple weeks. I suppose a short nap couldn't hurt...* she told herself as she drifted off to sleep.
"Do you really want to find him?" her mother's voice asked.
Shannon looked around, but couldn't see her mother. Everything felt surreal and dreamlike. "Yes, of course I do, but who is he? How can I find him if I don't even know who he is?"
"You'll know Chibi, you'll know." the voice answered. Shannon felt sure if she could see her mother, she would have a gentle smile on her face. "This is for you. It will help you more than you know."
A small, clear, violet tinted crystal appeared in front of her in the shape of a heart. Shannon reached out her hands to take it. "My Crystal..." She made a silent wish to herself. She wished more than anything to find the young man, to have a real adventure. The crystal began to emit a soft glow, which spread to her outstretched hands, then quickly enveloped her body. She felt herself disappearing, and drifting further into sleep. *Or had it been reality?* Was the last thing she wondered as she fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.

"Just a few more things, then we'll go home." Bulma smiled.
Trunks rolled his eyes, "you said that two hours ago Mom. We're just lucky
that the androids seem to have taken today off . We really should get going..."
If Bulma heard her son, she chose to ignore him. She stepped out of the car, waving for him to follow.
A few hours later they were home. It was dark, nearly eleven o' clock. Bulma parked the air car and walked into their home. She paused at the porch, "Trunks, would you bring in those packages and re-encapsulate the air car for me? I'm a little tired."
"Yeah, sure Mom, you better go in and get some rest. I'll take care of it." Trunks replied.
Trunks began loading his arms with packages; amazed that his mother could buy so much stuff in just one day. He took as much as would fit through the door and carried it inside, then went out for another load. He would have liked to carry it all at once, but the door frame just wouldn't allow it.
As he stepped outside into the night air, he noticed something or someone in the car that hadn't been there just a few minutes ago. There was a young girl, asleep in the back seat. He wondered how on earth she could have gotten there. He and his mother lived fairly far away from town so that they didn't have to worry about the androids as much. Trunks also wondered how she could be in such a deep sleep when she hadn't been there only a moment ago. It was like she just appeared out of thin air! Trunks decided it would be best to finish putting the groceries and other things away first, thinking maybe he had imagined her and when he came back, maybe she'd be gone.
He thought wrong. He came outside, found her still asleep, laying quietly
across the back seat. Trunks put a hand to his head. He really didn't need this
kind of stress right now. Just one more thing to complicate life even further.
He sighed. He didn't want to just leave her out here, it was getting cold, but
he also didn't want to have to wake his mother about it. She had been going
through every bit as much as he, maybe more, since she always seemed so worried
about him.
He approached the car, looking down at her. She looked about 16 or 17 years
old and was dressed not unlike most teens these days. She wore a pair of baggy
jeans with a tight black tank top that showed off her figure. She had light
brown hair, worn down, and he noticed it had light streaks of blond in it as
well.
Nervous, he picked her up, trying not to wake her. He couldn't let her stay outside, it would be too cold. He flew just barely off the ground, not wanting her to wake from his footsteps.
Bulma and Trunks' home was fairly small since the Jinzoungen had destroyed Capsule Corp. along with other buildings and cities. They had only two bedrooms, a kitchen and a small space reserved for Bulma's lab. As he thought about it he realized the had only two beds, seeing as they never had guests and since Gohan hadn't been there for so long...
Trunks shook his head and took her into his room, laying her on the bed. He'd have to play the gentleman and sleep on the floor. He yawned and set out looking for a mat and blanket for himself.
He was able to find some spare blankets and a mat among the many things Bulma had purchased and unrolled a mat on the floor of his room, near the bed. She had bought a lot of stuff this time to prepare for winter. They were always so cold here and Autumn was nearly over. He hoped things would be a little clearer in the morning, maybe then he could find out who on earth this girl was. He lay on his side, looking at the soft features of her face. *For not ever seeing her before, she seems so familiar...* was the last thing he thought before sleep took him as well.
