Seiko soon realized however, that the best fighter in the whole colony was going to be there. This information came from none other that Callista, who heard it from Raz, who heard it from KiKi, who heard it from Jabari.
"They say that Laszlow, the strongest man in the whole colony is going to be there!" Callista said in a worried tone," aren’t you afraid you’ll lose?"
"No," Seiko said," it’s quite an honor to fight someone with such a high reputation. Sure I have my doubts, but what will be will be."
With that Seiko got up and walked to the board to see who her first opponent(victim) would be.
The tournament began with a brief welcoming and then the fighting began.
The first fight was between Laszlow and a man named Yume. In about thirty seconds it ended and Laszlow was declared winner.
"When’s your match?" Callista asked Seiko.
"Last," she answered," after the other guys finish beating each other’s brains out!"
"You’re the youngest and the only girl," Callista pointed out,"you aren’t nervous?"
"Nope,"Seiko replied calmly.
"Next up! Seiko vs. Julio!" the announcer yelled.
"Well, that’s me,"Seiko said getting up and walking to the arena.
"Three, two, one, FIGHT!" the announcer yelled.
With that the burly, tanned, man named Julio rushed at Seiko with an intense speed. He circled around Seiko as if trying to intimidate her. But she held her ground.
Julio scratched his head," What’s with her?" he thought," she’s just a little girl and she isn’t even afraid of me."
Seiko grew tired of waiting so she lunged at Julio and punched him in the head sending him crashing to the ground.
The crowd was silent for a minute, then they burst into applause and cheers as they watched Seiko walk calmly off the arena.
"Dear God, if all the fights are like that then this tournament is in the bag" Seiko said to herself as she walked by a person about her height.
She turned and looked at the man in the hooded cloak. She could have sworn that as she walked by she saw him turn and look at her.
She then waved it off and walked back to her chair.
"You did it, Seiko!" Callista cheered running to her friend,"you were great!"
" That was just the first round, Callista," Seiko said,"and I have a feeling that something big is going to happen in this tournament."
"Like what?" Callista asked.
" I don’t know, but it will be fun when I find out what" Seiko said looking toward the hooded figure, who seemed to be looking straight at her.
" And I have a feeling it will be soon."
