Bishounen of the Month

This month's Pick: Ty-Chou

SAGE!

Ooooh, I wanna shake the hand of the person who drew this picture. *drool* Name: Sage/Seiji Date (Pronounced like Da-Tay. It's French. Sage: It's Japanese!)
Series: Ronin Warriors/Samurai Troopers
Nicknames: Sagie-Poo, Sage-i-licious
Birthday: June 9, 1973
Sign: Gemini
Element: Light
Armor: Halo/Korin
Power Trait: Wisdom/Courtesy
Attack: Thunder Bolt Cut/Rai Ko Zan
Team Function: Prettyboy
Hobbies: Kendo, banzai, the bamboo flute and....auto racing! (He's a blonde Speed Racer!)
Personality: Very rebellious when he was a child, but now is very proper.

Some tidbits about Sage: Sage lives in the outskirts of Sendai in his family's dojo. He has two sisters. Yayoi, his elder sister teases him mercilessly while his younger sister, Satsuki adores him to no end. When he was little, the unnatural color of Sage's eyes often frightened little children; hence he started combing his hair over one eye to make himself less intimidating. Also, when he was little, he was often sick so his parents would dress him up like a girl with the belief that girls were less susceptible to diseases. Sage still has the urge to dress pretty sometimes. LOL. Poor Sage!

We tried to reach Sage for comment on being this month's bishounen. But he was too busy getting his roots dyed and didn't have the time.

Why Sage?: It was pretty tough coming up with my first B.O.M. choice. You have no idea how much Hotohori tempts me. But with Tasuki as last month's, I didn't want to do two bishis from the same show. So instead, this is my tribute to my first anime. This show is what pulled me into the fandom and Sage was the first bishounen to make me ask "That's a GUY??" Plus, the first OVA is being released this month! Gotta get them all! And you can be sure by the time you're reading this, I already have my copy.

So guys, this one's for you. And Sagie, I love you and all your blonde, prettyboy moodiness. All the times you tell Ryo he's being a dumbass leader and all the angsting you do in the OVAs. Though, I'm sorry dude, Cye has you beat in Kikoutei. Now THAT was some good angsting. He even punched Rowen! Someone had to do it.
At any rate, this one goes out to my first and still favorite show and all the other old school bishounen out there that get overlooked. We love you guys!

Things Sage Has Learned:

  • You can never have too much hair spray.
  • Just because you're under a waterfall, doesn't mean you're going to have a bad hair day.
  • No matter how beautiful you are, Cale will still punch you in the face.
  • When in New York, don't go home with creepy old men.
  • No matter how many he has, if you sneak a ho-ho from Rowen's secret stash, he WILL notice.
  • Never ask Ryo to build a fire, light a candle, or pump your gas if you don't wish to die a painful, fiery death.
  • There is always a chance for redemption, no matter how evil one appears in the first episode.
  • Mia is tougher than she looks. And meaner, too.
  • Don't eat cheetos in front of White Blaze.
  • Fear the fangirl for she is mighty.
  • The hair color you're born with is only a suggestion.
  • Don't take tip offs from Dynasty Solders.
  • Never underestimate little girls.
  • No matter how far away you are, how well you are hidden in the deepest, darkest cave, and how deep you are buried; even if he is blind and hunted, Ryo will find you and free you. And bug you. And ask you to lend him more money.
  • Kento is not stupid, he's advanced.
  • High-waters are always in.
  • Do not involve Cye in water fights. He will kick your ass.
  • You can be the same voice actor for two characters of the same show if you just give one an accent.

Nie-chan: Sage....what can I say....(man that is a beautiful picture.) Well, I've only been recently introduced to Ronin Warriors. I caught like 2 episodes with my brother when it was on Cartoon Network. Tychou is loaning me her tapes, yay!! So, I've only seen him for a bit. But I love the way his hair defies gravity and water pressure from what I hear... Anyway, that picture is gorgeous. Even if I didn't know a whole lot about him, which I don't, I would fight over him for that picture. Sooooooo pretty!! Tychou and her old school rocks!!! Well, that is all I can really say because I don't know a whole lot about him except that that picture is really gorgeous. Tychou! Can I put that picture in my room? I promise I won't censor anything....just like the Tsuzuki picture it is a work of art.

PanPan: yay! old school! WORD! that is one sage-a-licious pic yo! I wonder what kind of gel he uses to get his hair to stay like that... My first encounter with Sage was yes, on the cartoon network, but I only got through about the first 15 eps, then I missed some and never saw the series in it's complete-ness. I thought Kento was the funniest, but Sage and Ryo were my fav's for bishy-ness. Anyway, awesome er... it's old school, so should I say "rad"? heh, anyway, great pick for this month Ty-chou!

Kime: I don't know much about Sage, but I definitely have to agree that he is one major cutie. I've seen a few episodes of Ronin Warriors (on Cartoon Network) and hopefully I'll be able to see more sometime soon, preferably uncut and in Japanese. Sage is *really* cute and you just gotta love the hair.

No-chan: Well, I don't know a whole lot about Sage, except for the bits and pieces that Ty-Chou has told me! Is he the one who's hair doesn't move? At all? Ever? Except
for one episode.. was it in the OAV? Where he flipped his hair? ;) What I DO know, is that picture of him that she found is Uber-Hot! Hehee.. I did watch a
few episodes of Ronin Warriors when it was on Toonami, and loved the storyline, but I never got to see the whole thing.. Anyway, good choice, Ty-Chou! Give those Old School boys some credit. We love you, Old School Bishounen!!! ;)
