| Right now you're thinking, "Dang he's creepy."
or "Dang he's hot." Well, I don't care which one you think,
I'm gonna tell you about him anyway. ^-^ Faust VIII IS Faust VIII because he's the great great great(etc) Grandson of the famous Faust. You know, the one you studied about in school? Well, maybe not, so I'll fill you in. The original Faust was a scholar. He spent his entire life studying and never had time to really "live." So one day the devil tempted him by offering him all the things of the world in exchange for his soul. He ended up living a very long and tragic life, etc etc. Okay, now let's start with some of Faust VIII's back story! Faust was born in Germany. His entire family became doctors and studied medicince and diseases. When he was young, he met a girl named Elisa, who had an incurable disease, so he put all his efforts into finding a cure. 20 years later, he found one, and in the mean time, Faust and Elisa had fallen in love. The were married soon after and opened their own hospital. But one day Faust VIII came home and found Elisa, dead on the floor. She'd been shot in the head by a thief and there was nothing he could do, even with all his doctorly skills, to save her. So, he began to study Necromancy - the art of reviving the dead - in his Great Grandfather's ancient texts. He uses his wife's bones combined with his oversoul - or spirit power - to revive her and use her to help him fight in Shaman battles, though she's still just an animated doll. His goal is to defeat the other Shamans and become the Shaman King so he can truly bring back his beloved Elisa from the dead. |

The dark circles under his eyes, dark lips, and pale complexion come
from Faust VIII's lack of sleep. He hasn't slept since the death of
his wife, so... about 8 YEARS. Dang. (So NO! That's not lipstick or
eyeshadow!) |

The lack of sleep, however, doesn't account for that creepy glazed look in his eyes... nope. That's most likely due to the morphine running through his entire body... (Fem Gri La does NOT promote the use of morphine or other drugs... lol) He does that before EVERY shaman fight so that if he is injured, he won't feel pain. also, if he does something, like break a bone, he'll just cut open his leg, pull out the bone and replace it with one from the graveyard. (note the stitches on his chest and abs... yeah. that's what they're from...)

Pan-Pan: Now, why did I pick this creepy guy? I think he's pretty cool. He's my favorite character from Shaman King! I like him for his creepy, yet sincere dedication to his woman. I mean, how many girls can say their guy didn't sleep for 8 years because he was thinking about you? lol... Plus I dunno why, but the punky raver skater type guys always seem to appeal to me. what can I say? C'mon Faust! Let's go buy us some glowsticks and find a rave! No, sorry, you'll have to leave the morphine at home... *starts up some techno-rave music*
Nie-chan: I don't know much about Faust.. just a little bit fromt the bit of manga that I read. But looking at those pictures I'm kind of intrigued. I don't know if I really care for the creepy ones or not, but he does look cool. hmm....
Kime: I know absolutely nothing about Faust, but he does look kind of hot. I think the guy needs some grief couseling or something though. There is healthy grief and unhealthy grief. I think that carrying around the body of your deceased wife would fall under the unhealthy category. I wonder if he has problems with dogs following him around since he carries all those bones with him. Hmmm . . . something to ponder . . .
Ty-chou: Well, I've only seen the first few episodes of Shaman King, so I haven't met Faust yet. I'm usually a fan of dubs, but that one kind of bugged me. Still, I think he's an excellent choice for October. Really puts us in the mood for the holiday. ^.^
No-chan: (2/12/04) Oo! OK so, he's not the prettiest of guys, but he is fairly cute.. and gross.. ew.. dead people? Dead wife?? Whoa.. still, pretty cool character, and perfect pick for an October Bishounen! Great job, Pan-Pan!
