Name: Jushiro Ukitake Series: Bleach by Tite Kubo Occupation: Shinigami ("Death God"), Captain of the 13th Division in Sereitei, the walled city of Soul Society (the afterlife according to Bleach). Birthday: December 21 (he's several hundred years old, possibly over 2000, so technically, I guess he's not a biSHOUNEN.. But as we've proved again and again here at Fem~Gri~La, we don't care how old they are, just if they're hot.) Personality: Well, he's really serious about a lot of things, and hasn't shown that he has a TON of "personality." He's not funny. He's not perverted. He's always really serious. Especially about protecting people and fighting. He's sick, in fact he has Tuberculosis, otherwise called "Consumption", so when you first see him, he doesn't look very good, but man, when his people are threatened, he's right there at the front lines protecting them every way he knows how, and not looking sick, either! Weapon: Sword!! That can turn into TWO!

If you haven't seen Bleach yet. You should. It's seriously one of the most awesome shows I think I've seen yet. The reason I picked Ukitake for this month's Bish, besides the obvious (*ahem* Long white hair! What is WITH me and long white hair?! I don't know, but I love it.), is that he is quite awesome. Like I said, he's sick. In fact, he's BEEN sick forever. Apparently that's what turned his hair white. Can you imagine living (though not really LIVING) for 2000 years with Tuberculosis?? If you've seen Moulin Rouge, that's what Nicole Kidman's character dies of. She didn't have it for very long before it killed her. But, despite being so sick that if he were alive, he would be dead, he still fights like none other. He's very honest, loyal, and just. He won't give up if he believes something is wrong, and will even break the rules to prove it.

All the shinigami have special swords that are basically their partners. That's not a good enough term, but their swords DO all have souls in them. They are all katana that look slightly different depending on the shinigami. They also have different, varying attacks, also depending on the shinigami. They are called zanpakuto, and the art of fighting with one is called zanjutsu. Ukitake's sword, named Sogyo no Kotowari (which apparently means Truth of Pisces), can turn into two swords that look sort of like hook swords, with a chain or cord between them.

Hm. Yeah. That's boring. I'm sorry. But you should watch the show, or read the manga, and see for yourself! Anyway, I think he's super hot, and he makes me wanna cuddle him 'til the hurt goes away! Here are some pictures for you all to drool over. Enjoy!

Kime: Yay! Ukitake-taicho is awesome! I love that his soul slayer is a double sword type. I've always thought those types of weapons are the coolest. Ukitake and Shunsuei totally hang out and are awesome together. Yay for the awesome!!

Ty-chou: Sadly, I haven't gotten far enough in the manga or anime to really know how this guy is I saw him for about two seconds in one episode. But if No-Chan likes him, I'm sure he's cool. ^.^
