April's Bishounen of the Month:
No-chan's pick..

Series: Weiss Kreuz.. otherwise known as 'Knight Hunters.' (It's pronounced Vice Kroytz, pretty much)
Name: Fujimiya Ran ... his real name. But he goes by "Aya"... I'll explain in a second..
He also has a codename: "Abyssinian" All the lucky boys are named after cats, didn't you know?
Age: 20 (give or take a few years) His birthday is July 4th.
Family: One younger sister. Aya.
Member of Weiss (there are four members total), an undercover organization that assassinates persons of note who are trying to undermine authority.. Technically, they are the good guys, though they still do bad things. They live and work in a flower shop when not gallivanting around poking people's eyes out..
Aya's weapon of choice is a katana (the other three have other various weapons.. including gloves with claws).
Aya is one of four almost overly Angsty guys from a show that, while not always on par with a lot of stuff out there, still has some entertainment value. Hello, beautiful men, anyone? The sad fact is, the show was put together and pushed along by a voice actor (Koyasu Takehito) who probably should stick mostly to voice acting, even though he's a good one! (he's Hotohori, among other voices) So the animation isn't always very good (yay beautiful still shots!), and the plot kinda gets confused and falls apart at times. Ah well. I know that I didn't mind. I actually liked the show, though I know some of the other femmes may not have liked it as well as I did. But I'm not as picky as some people, either! ;)
Yes, the show angsts WAY too much. Aya angsts way too much.. He's not always the nicest of characters either, and can actually be kind of mean at times, but there's a bit of a soft spot hiding behind his closely guarded heart. In the anime, his sister Aya is in a coma after being hit by a car, which was of course, a plot against their family thanks to the main bad guy of the series, Takatori Reiji. Ran and Aya had been out all day, he bought her some earrings she really wanted, and when they got home, the whole family had been assassinated. They too, almost died, but Ran saved them both only to have Aya get hit by that car. He now wears one of the earrings he bought her, and is actually trying very diligently to find a way to wake Aya up, while going by her name in her memory. It's actually kind of sweet.
I guess one of the main issues I have with this anime is that it was created for fangirls.. so therefore I guess they felt they didn't really NEED a stable plot as long as they had the beautiful guys. Now it's yaoi fodder, which is frightening in and of itself. The guys are all stick straight, no wavering on their roads! Yet EVERY yaoi fangirl has paired two or more of them up with every other guy in the show. I think all four of the Weiss members get paired up with a woman during the show, but apparently that doesn't matter. ;)
No-chan says: I chose Aya because 1) He's beautiful, 2) He uses a sword!!, and 3) He's the favorite of a good internet friend of mine. Both our favs are Ayas!! (Here's to you Jamie!) So I'm sorry that he's a little better known than some of the other Bishies we've chosen so far, but I just had to pick him!
Kime: Yay! Aya! He's definitely cute and definitely *very* angsty. Runs around for a lot of the series yelling "TAKATORI!!" Yeah. Although he does have a good reason to be angsty. Kid sister in a coma, secret assassin, works in a flower shop. How can a hot guy *not* angst when he is surronded by flowers?! I think that's one of the unwritten rules of bishounen. Whenever one is near flowers, especially cherry blossoms, one must angst. Yup yup!! Oooh . . . In Weiss Kreuz Gluhen (that's a second season or something), Aya has *really* long hair that he wears in a braid. He wears glasses too!! Hot Hot Hot!! Sooooooo yummy with that long hair! *cough* Um . . . yeah. There are my thoughts of Aya for you!
Nie-chan: oh wow... those are some REALLY nice pictures there. Oh.. they make me forget that the animation wasn't that nice. *ahem* Well... I had a fun time watching the show... I might of made fun of some stuf... but all in all I had a fun time. Aya is definately sexy.. everyone must give him that. lol And the outtakes on those DVDs are the best! No-chan, who cares if he is well known or not, pick whoever you want to for this thing! ^_^
Ty-chou: Oh man, I want Aya in that pic up at the top. Yum-yum. What a great choice for BOM. Aya is like the poster child of what all bishounen strive to be. He is beautiful, mysterious, and of course, very VERY angsty. Weiss has the coolest plot idea. I mean, what woman wouldn't love the idea of four hot guys existing for the sake of making the streets safe for women like us? Sadly, this idea is executed very poorly which will forever be thought of as one of the biggest tragedies in the anime world. The bigger tragedy is that Weiss also seems to be the biggest magnet for rabid yaoi fans. Hello! When the creators go to lengths to create a possible love interrest for each character, it most likely means they didn't intend for the four main men to start making out with each other. You can't tell me different. Go sell your craziness somewhere else.
Pan-Pan: Ooooh baby. pan pan like. Aya may not have the best personality, but he's definitely got the sex appeal. The plot for Weiss was a little thin, but gosh how pretty they are... Personally I like Yohji, but Aya is a BABE. love it. the pics are gorgeous no-chan! Nice pick!
Next month's pick: Nie-chan
